Look at the link, not the message. The address borrows your toll agency's name, but it is not your agency's real website.
Example from our recreation.
How it works
- A text says you owe a small unpaid toll, like $4.15, and must pay by tomorrow or lose your registration.
- The link opens a page made to look like your toll agency.
- Anything you type there goes to the scammer.
What to do
- Don't tap the link and don't reply.
- Go to your toll agency's site yourself, or call the number on your account.
- Forward the text to 7726 (SPAM), then delete it.
